A paragraph is a short composition where a group of sentences are related to a single idea. In a paragraph, sentences related to a topic are organized properly to give information.

There is no specific rule regarding the format or the length of a paragraph. However, a paragraph must contain a heading that tells us its topic/theme and the entire paragraph revolves around it.

Question 1. You have visited a bookstore which was established in the same year India got its independence. Describe the many books you have encountered there and the feeling of visiting such a place.

Answer: A Visit to a Bookstore

On my way to school, I always come across a bookstore that looks old but lively. I was fascinated by its environment whenever I saw it from the window of the school bus. So, I decided to visit the bookstore on a Sunday morning. The name ofthe bookstore is Bibiliophile’s Heaven and it has been a favorite place for booklovers since the time of India’s Independence.

Inside the bookstore, I saw people of various ages picking, choosing, and buying books. When I went through the various bookshelves, I found books of many genres such as fiction, classic, comic, horror, and children’s story books.

I spent around 2 hours inside the bookstore and bought 5 books. I also got a membership which would allow me to borrow books from the store. I enjoyed my whole time there. I plan to go to the bookstore frequently.

Question 2. Write a paragraph on one of the best gifts that you have received.
Answer: The Best Gift I Have Ever Received One ofthe best gifts I have ever received was given to me by my uncle.

I got a laptop which I desperately needed for my school studies. It is in black with a 16-inch display. It weighs less than a kilo and I can easily carry it in my bag.

I often use it in my bed as well as on my study table. The laptop has all the applications that I would need. It has a great graphic card and a good processor to support my graphic design learning. It also has an in-built camera that allows me to attend some of my classes online.

A good thing about my laptop is that it allows me to watch movies online without leaving the comfort of my home. Further, it has a really good sound quality which brings me joy as I love listening to music.

Moreover, the laptop is quite handy for me. I can search the internet, get help for my studies, and learn many new things from my laptop. According to me, it has proved as a very useful device for many years.

Question 3. Write a paragraph on The Season I Like the Most’.

The Season I Like the Most

There are 5 seasons that we know of. Each of these seasons comes with its characteristics which make us like or dislike it. Hence, I also have a season that I adore and that is my favorite season. My favorite season is the rainy season or the Monsoons.

In India, it is a very important season. Agriculture in India depends largely on the water given by the rains. For me, it is the most colorful of all the seasons. One can see a lot of greenery around oneself.

The dark clouds are a great blessing and are eagerly awaited after the scorching summer heat.

You can see many birds, animals, and insects coming out of their homes to enjoy the cold rain. Not to forget the steaming pakoras and tea along with the paper boats that we can float in puddles.

The best part ofthe season is that one gets a lot of unexpected holidays and off from school due to the rains. It is a pleasure to go out in the rain and get wet in the water.

Question 4. Write a short paragraph on ‘An Annual Function’. You may take help from the following questions

  2. Who was the Chief Guest?
  3. Which cultural programs were presented?
  4. What prize did you get?

Answer: An Annual Function

Every year our school celebrates an Annual Function to remember our achievements ofthe year. This year’s annual day was held in my school on 21st February, 20XX.

It was held at the school auditorium and the preparations for it began in December. Just like every year, this year also we had a ChiefGuest- Ms. Rupa Mishra, the District Collector. The function began with ‘Saraswati Vandana’.

Then, the Principal welcomed the Chief Guest and the other guests with garlands. Next, a Ghoomer dance was presented by the girls of various classes. The physical movements ofthe dancers attracted everyone.

Afterward, Maa Tujhe Salaam, an action patriotic group song was displayed. The actions ofthe singers charmed the viewers.

Further, a drama on the benefits ofthe modern technology was staged. Viewers were excited to watch it. Later, the prizes were given away to the students. I got a trophy for being an all-rounder in my class.

Question 5. Write a paragraph of about 100 words on ‘ My Hobby’. Use the following words: gardening, morning, grow, flowers, vegetables, fresh air, fresh and free vegetables, neighbors, temple, happy.

Hobbies give pleasure to everyone. Whenever you have free time, you enjoy participating in your hobby. It brings you joy, relaxes you, and takes away all the tiredness ofthe day. My hobby is gardening.

I love sitting in nature, planting seeds, and watching life take form in front of me because of my efforts.

My hobby is very useful for my family. There is a piece of land behind my house which is my mini garden.

There I grow flowers which my elders use for pooja. I also grow various vegetables and herbs. Till now, I have planted tomatoes, coriander, green chillis, oregano, ginger, oranges, and strawberries.

Not only this, but my garden helps keep me healthy. I get up early in the morning and work in the garden. In this way, I get fresh air and light exercise. I feel happy to see my garden.
